The American
Refugee Committee International (ARC) is officially
registered with the Government of Sudan as an international
nongovernmental organization in Darfur and established permanent
operations to address the needs of displaced and war-affected
communities in the region. Today, despite continuing security
concerns, ARC is providing life-saving services to 400,000 people
in the rural Nyala-Gareida and Nyala-Tulus corridors of South
Darfur, with a significant portion of their aid earmarked for
women and children.
ARC’s response to the crisis in Darfur is comprehensive. Their
staff provides comprehensive primary health care, has established
permanent and mobile health clinics, digs wells, constructs latrines
and provides other services that touch all aspects of people’s
lives.

On the evening of the concert, September 28, 2007, bring your
old cell phone with you! TARC will have cell phone recycling
bins set up on the trolleys and there will also be a collection
bin set up at the concert. By bringing your old cell phone,
ECO-CELL will recycle them and proceeds will go to the ARC.
This is a great way to increase our ability to donate even
more to the crisis in Darfur. For more information on how cell
phone recycling works, please visit ECO-Cell’s
website.
